This is one of the few popular piano rags that falls within the tonal range and fingering purview of a tenor or a plectrum banjo. Even so, it takes some specialized fingering and good execution to "sell" it as an effective 4-string banjo piece. It helps to have a piano and/or tuba and any other supporting instrument you can get for support. There is an ensemble arrangement available.

This arrangement solves the fingering problems and provides a good musical foundation for any banjoist ambitious enough to learn to play this tune without corrupting it in some way, like playing it too fast.
